How long until the finished images?
Three to four weeks for a wedding, around two weeks for parties and portraits. The reason is the volume: I edit every image that is technically sound and not a duplicate, not a small selection from them. After a wedding that is easily over a thousand images, and every one of them goes through my hands on its own.
How many images do I get?
All of them. I work differently from most: I edit every image that is technically sound and not a duplicate, rather than selling you a selection from them. What goes is what is out of focus, where somebody blinked, or where nearly the same frame appears three times. A real example: a wedding in Kitzbühel produced around 2,000 frames and I delivered 1,305 edited images. Without a selection package and without a surcharge per image.
I am not photogenic at all. Does this still work?
Yes, and I hear that sentence at nearly every shoot. Being photogenic is not a trait, it is a question of light and of the first ten minutes. Nothing that counts happens in those. After them, most people forget the camera is there.
What may I do with the images?
Anything private, with no time limit: print them, give them away, post them, make an album. For company work all your own channels are included. The rights are set out in the contract.
Why does every price say „from“?
Because a wedding has more variables than any other job: how many hours, whether there is one location or three, how far apart they are, whether the evening ends at ten or at two. A single fixed price for all of that would be either too high for a small ceremony or too tight for a whole day. So the figures here are starting prices. After a short conversation you get a firm quote within 24 hours with a fixed sum, and that sum appears unchanged on the invoice later.
Are there hidden costs?
No. What the quote says is what the invoice says. The only additions are things you order explicitly: extra hours, prints or an album. You never pay extra for individual images, because everything gets edited anyway. Outside Munich I charge 0.50 euros per kilometre.
How does payment work?
For weddings, a deposit of 30 per cent on booking and the rest after delivery. For portraits and city tours you pay once the images are with you. Invoice with VAT shown, made out to a company if you need that.
Do you know our venue?
In Munich and the surrounding area, very probably. If not, I drive out beforehand and look at the light at the hour of your ceremony. That costs nothing extra.
Will you help with the timings?
Yes, and it is one of the most useful parts of my work. Twenty-five years tell you how long congratulations really take and when the light is at its best. We go through the running order together before the day.
What about data protection at company events?
I collect your guests' consent digitally and document it so it can be traced. That lets you use the images afterwards on a sound legal footing, without having to keep lists yourself.
